Cross Country Club

Cross Country

Cross-country club is held on a Thursday after school at 3:15 and finishes at 4:15. During the club, we run laps around the field at the speed we want. Year 3 and 4 do four laps and year 5 and year 6 do six. We also practise sprinting and running up hills, which makes us better at running quickly. Doing relays requires us to use our teamwork skills.  Before this, we do a thorough warm-up to prepare ourselves. Children from year 3 and upwards are allowed to join the club. Everyone is required to wear suitable running attire (leggings, tracksuit bottoms or shorts, trainers or comfortable shoes) if we are not already wearing our PE kit.

Occasionally we compete with other schools in tournaments. We travel on a bus to go to other schools and race against people in our own year group and the same gender. Sometimes parents are allowed to spectate the race so that they can see their child competing.

This club is great, as weekly exercise is good for your mental and physical health. Children who attend enjoy going with their friends and working as a team.
