Personal, Social and Health Education
We believe that every child should be equipped to make a valuable contribution in later life and understand the importance of their own wellbeing.
Our PSHE scheme of work brings together PSHE Education Curriculum, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development in an inclusive scheme of learning.
PSHE is taught, and embedded, through whole school assemblies, cross-curricular application and discreet lessons. SMSC (Spiritual, Moral Social and Cultural) development opportunities are included across the PSHE curriculum where appropriate and we provide pupils with life skills such as: money management, first aid and how to stay safe in a range of situations.
Class teachers also cover Sex and Relationships Education content for their year group with the aim of ensuring that children understand the boundaries of healthy relationships and the changes in their bodies.
The One Decision curriculum is used as the basis of our PSHE and Personal Development curriculum.
