Play, Learn and Grow Together!

We offer your child a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment with a focus on play-centred adult and child-led activities in line with The Statutory Framework for Early Years. We focus on the three prime areas of Language for Communication, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. A further four areas of learning make up the seven areas of learning; Literacy, Maths, Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts and Design. We make sure the Characteristics of Effective Learning are covered: engagement through playing or exploring; being motivated through active learning; and creating and thinking critically.

Our aim is to allow children to develop your child’s social, communication and learning skills alongside friends in a happy, simulating environment indoor and outdoor environment. We are located in a separate building from the school, but within the school grounds.

We have our own secured garden that our children have daily access to. The children also have access to school facilities such as the outdoor playground and field space. We also value the importance of developing a physical and emotional environment where children feel confident to explore and investigate and find things out for themselves.

We believe all children should have the opportunity to play safely but at the same time participate in stimulating activities which will lay a foundation for future schooling and the world they grow up in. We are committed to fostering a loving and nurturing environment in which children flourish so you can be assured that your child will feel safe and secure in our setting.

Earls Colne Nursery aims to provide high quality care, which is maintained by our team of nursery staff members. We pride ourselves on our high ratio of qualified staff to children in our nursery. We work closely with the EYFS leader and teachers so we can provide your child with a smooth transition when they start the main school.
