We are extremely fortunate to have our own heated, open air swimming pool at Earls Colne, which is generously supported year on year by our 'Friends' association. It is approximately 15 metres long and surrounded by decking. There are male and female changing rooms in the pool area and it is securely fenced, only being unlocked when a member of staff is present.
During the summer term all children from Reception to Year 6 are given 2 lessons in the pool each week. Our wonderful swim instructor John and his dedicated team of parent 'spotters', encourage even the most nervous pupils and most are moving along happily in the water after only a couple of sessions. Teachers sometimes swim alongside these children giving them the support and encouragement to allow them to progress.
Lessons are offered completely free of charge to our children (although a small donation towards maintenance costs is always appreciated) and we are enormously proud of the progress they make, both in terms of increased confidence and stroke development.
The pool is used for races by the children in Key stage 2 as part of our annual sports day decathalon.
"It is our aim that no child will leave the school without being able to swim."

EARLS COLNE VILLAGE CAROL SERVICE
Due to continued bad weather, the school will not be participating in the Earls Colne Village Carol service tonight.
Unfortunately, due to sheet ice around and on the school site we have had to make the decision to close the school we would not be able to guarantee the safety of children and staff in the current circumstances.
Click here to find out about our amazing Fireworks Display. We raised a whopping £6758 for our school.
