A new National Curriculum was introduced to all state funded schools in England on September 1st 2014. This document outlines the 'essential knowledge that they need to be educated
It states that children will study the core subjects of English, mathematics and science and other, foundation, subjects: art and design, computing, design and technology, geography, history, music, physical education and in Key Stage 2, languages.
Primary schools are also required to teach religious education and we follow Essex County Councils agreed syllabus across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Parents have the right to withdraw children from assemblies and religious education lessons after consultation with the Headteacher. We also follow the non-statutory frameworks for Personal, Social and Health Education.
