My favourite lunch is fish and chips or jacket potato with beans and cheese. I like the cucumber, sweetcorn and carrots too. The desserts are very good and I like them all!
Lara Year 1
School lunches at Earls Colne are excellent! Wherever possible we source our ingredients from local suppliers who provide high quality produce.
The current cost is £2:00 per day and we request that payment is brought into school on a Monday morning. Payment can also be made on a termly basis.
From September 2014 every child in EYFS and Key Stage 1 (ages 4-7) is entitled to a school lunch free of charge. For these children this will be a jacket potato or the 'Hot Meal' choice of the day only!
Every day the KS2 children can choose from a healthy balanced hot meal, filled baguette of the day or a jacket potato with a choice of fillings. In addition to the homemade dessert or homemade yoghurt, fresh fruit is also available. Vegetarians are catered for as are children with specific dietary needs or allergies (please contact the office in those cases.)
The menus work on a rolling three week cycle and can be downloaded here. There may occasionally be some variation as we celebrate seasonal or charitable events but these can be seen on the weekly newletter, where the menu is always included.
The school lunches are very, very delicous. They are much bigger portions than my last school and much cheaper!
Connor Year 6
Every morning break, children from Year 5/6 man a tuck trolley which is found in front of the Year 3/4 classrooms under the canopy. This is availabe for KS2 pupils only (as KS1 are given fresh fruit).
Following the new government guidelines we are strictly limited as to what we can include on our trolley.
Semi-skimmed milk, juice and flavoured water will be available every day along with fresh fruit and raw vegetables.
Homemade bread will be available three days per week.
This is very popular with the children who make their purchases on the way to the playground.
One item = 25p Homemade item and a drink = 50p
EARLS COLNE VILLAGE CAROL SERVICE
Due to continued bad weather, the school will not be participating in the Earls Colne Village Carol service tonight.
Unfortunately, due to sheet ice around and on the school site we have had to make the decision to close the school we would not be able to guarantee the safety of children and staff in the current circumstances.
Click here to find out about our amazing Fireworks Display. We raised a whopping £6758 for our school.
